Hubris

Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall. Better to be lowly in spirit along with the oppressed than to share plunder with the proud.     - Proverbs 16:18-19

Today, unfortunately, the base of humanity is shaking: humility is breaking and hubris is flourishing. The crevices of the world get more and more filled with pride.

Vain, arrogant people are sure of their luck, that's all they care about. Undoubtfully, at some point they "lose" a match of life's game, the cruel side of life wins, so they get indignant and miserable. Then, unsurprisingly, they form groups of hate for that one person, that finally, deservedly "won", instead of being happy for him.

It makes me shiver, for example, when I get inside the comment section of any post of any singer or an actor, painter, poet or just and ordinary human sharing what he/she loves… There are dozens of people that spread bullying by calling it a meme… There are dozens that spread hate by calling it a freedom of speech… Instead of reaching their own goals most of the population at least once has left a snide comment, either in their minds or publicly, about someone who is doing well.

People forgot what being sympathetically proud, happy for someone else feels like… they forgot the true value of it. Mankind forgot why God made not only one man but two. We are born to share love, we are born to take care of one another, to help. Life already has numerous amounts of thorny rose hip trails that we are destined to walk through, slowly, immersing the pain, learning from it, because only after these excruciating, gut-wrenching paths, we get to see and feel the true softness, gratification and contentment while walking through the fields of life, seeing beauty in every flower of the rose hip; of living. After some time, we learn how to get benefit out of these unavoidable painful paths: some get satiated by the rose hip berries, some learn how to make the most delicious jam or tea out of them and share it with the guest of their life, some make the most beautiful necklace of wisdom and gift it to another. All we have to do is learn how to use the endless amount of unique berries of life that was given to us. Although, some paths are trailed through the shadows so there aren't many berries between the spikes of the rose hip bushes, some are rotten, but all of them have berries to give. Not one of us is left without them. God's garden is fruitful. And He is generous. God knew that it would be impossible to walk through this thing called life alone. So why we subconsciously try and hurt ourselves by isolation, by being malevolent? Why did we create loneliness and made it lethal? We are still babies, trying to learn how to live... but today we turned to the wrong path... we turned our back to Him, we want to take everything into our hands yet we have little to no experience of living. It's like we are hurting ourselves and not accepting help. And because of that, of the man-made disease - loneliness, at some point we feel the desire to get out of this world. Ask Yourself - why we made life a slow form of painful suicide?

I know that for most of you this text will wrinkle noses, I know that your tiny fingers will probably itch out of wanting to write something back, because:

- I'm not like that!

Again, if this thought ran through your mind: you are probably one of them. I'm sorry, but a humble person reflects on what he has done wrong and how he can improve, and a proud person will point his finger to himself and spit out that he has never hurt anyone. Because:

- Well, he deserved it anyway, he is bad! I'm the victim here.

Who are you to decide who is bad and who is good; who deserved pain and who got too much pleasure in his life? Who are you to make someone else feel worse than you do about yourself? Let's face it: each and every one of you, that decide to make somebody else's day a little worse, has a terrible relationship with themselves; Has a terrible or non existent relationship with God.

The sooner we will except this frightful fact of hubris ruling our minds, the sooner the world will become a better place, like it was meant to be. The first step of healing is always - Acceptance. It's time for Your soul to grow. The wind of change is here.

For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.

- Matthew 23:12
